Life More Abundantly by Dr. James Woods, Sr.

“Life More Abundantly”

John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Jesus came not to preserve life but to impart life. Abundant life is not a life of things, but it is the quality of life. That Quality of life is the life received through the gift of salvation.

For God so loved the world that He gave His Only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) that whosoever believeth in Him (accepts Him as their Savior thru His substitutional death on the Cross) shall not perish (suffer the penalty of sin) but have everlasting life (eternal life through Jesus Christ). John 3:16.

The life more abundantly that Jesus offers is the life that is given through salvation. Salvation being in part, deliverance from the penalty, the power, and the presence of sin and the receipt of eternal life. Eternal life being the restoration of spiritual life whereby one experiences “knowing God” (John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they might know thee the Only true God, and Jesus Christ”. This “knowing God” is both the knowledge of the Person and Work of God; and the possession of an intimate relationship with God the Father through being “in Christ”. A relationship with the Father that has such intimacy one is enabled to refer to Him as “Abba Father” (Romans 8:15).

At least four aspects of this life which believers receive makes it life “More Abundantly”. These are (1) Peace with God (Ephesians 2:11-18); (2) Union with Christ (John 15:1-11); (3) Indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-9-11); and (4) Being Made “Sons of God” (John 1:12-13; 1 John 3:1-2).

This “Life More Abundantly” is only made possible through the Work of Christ in His Death, Burial and Resurrection for Lost Humanity. If you are not saved consider the following Four Spiritual Laws.

1 God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life (John 3:16; 10:10).

2 Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for his life (Rom. 3:23; 6:23).

3 Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through him you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life (Rom. 5:8; 1 Cor. 15:3 – 6; John 14:6).

4 We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives (John 1:12; 3:1 – 8; Eph. 2:8 – 9; Rev. 3:20).
